GI New Patient Office Visit
A GI or a gastroenterologist is a doctor that specializes in treating and diagnosing any disorders of the digestive tract. During a new patient office visit, they perform a general evaluation and management service that allows them to learn about your overall health, so that they can help solve your GI problems more efficiently. They will ask you about any abdominal pain you may have. They also will want to know about any bleeding, existing medical conditions, medications you take, previous surgeries and past radiology and lab tests performed.
If after evaluating all of your past health, a diagnosis may not be clear. A GI will then schedule an upper endoscopy, a CT scan, an ultrasound or a proton pump inhibitor to treat various digestive tract conditions.
Some things that GI doctors treat is GERD, Acid Reflux, Irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, gallstones or gallbladder disease, celiac disease, hemorrhoids, constipation, cirrhosis, heartburn, hepatitis, pancreatitis or colon cancer.

The day of my appointment the provider's front desk staff did not want to accept the voucher. They gave me a very hard time and I had to beg her to call her office manager to ask if she could accept it. After she called she finally accepted it but was not happy about it. It was an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation.
