Procedure Details

This includes a hernia repair for the following types epigastric, incisional, ventral, umbilical, spigelian, inguinal or femoral. A hernia is when an organ or tissue pushes through an abnormal opening. This includes the insertion of mesh.     operating and recovery room services & supplies for outpatient stay (less than 24 hours) at Lutheran Hospital

  • Physician fee

    physician supervision & treatment in hospital. Does NOT include the initial evaluation to determine the need of the procedure.

  • Anesthesiologist fee

    regional or general anesthesia for the entire duration of the procedure

  • Pathology fee

    specimen(s) examination and tests for diagnosis. This test does not include the pathologic workup of malignancy. If malignancy is discovered during your procedure, additional charges will be incurred.

  • MDsave fee

    Covers the cost of contracting upfront rates with all involved medical providers, processing payment, and distributing funds, minimizing administrative overhead and allowing for a lower total price

Brett J. Guinn, MD, FACS, joined the surgery team at Lutheran Medical Group in February 2016. Prior to joining LMG, he was a partner in Lynch, Puccia, Leuking and Guinn General Surgeons, in Terre Haute, Ind., a private practice serving six Wabash Valley hospitals. During his time in Terre Haute, he also served as staff surgeon at the U.S. Federal Penitentiary and as staff physician at Union Hospital Wound Healing Center. Dr. Guinn has also practiced general surgery in Evansville and Connersville, Ind.   Dr. Guinn graduated summa cum laude from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. He earned a medical degree from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Mo., in 1994, and he completed a general surgery internship/residency at the University of Louisville in 1999.   Dr. Guinn, who is trained to use the robotic surgical platform and is certified in hyperbaric medicine, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons. Prior to coming to Fort Wayne, he was a proctor in the Physician Assistant Program at Indiana State University and was a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.   Dr. Guinn served as a surgical missionary in Malindi, Kenya, through the Caris Foundation and Body and Soul Ministries in 2012 and 2013
