Dr. Frerichs graduated from the University of South Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Frerichs completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of South Alabama, Orthopaedic Surgery Department and went on to complete double fellowship training in Foot and Ankle at Desert Orthopaedic Center under Dr. Troy Watson and Sports Medicine at the Andrews Institute under Dr. James Andrews.
Dr. Frerichs specializes in treating conditions of the foot and ankle, shoulder, knee, and other sports-related injuries. He also specializes in arthroscopy of the foot, ankle knee, and shoulder. Dr. Frerichs serves as the 2021 Chairman of Surgery for the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Frerichs was born in Pensacola but now calls Orange Beach home. He became interested in orthopaedics after having spine surgery at age 19. Dr. Frerichs and his wife, Cori, are raising three children Kiele, Mya, and Chase. He enjoys weightlifting, SEC football, fishing, and spending quality time with his wife and children. His family is involved in church and various sporting activities.
