General Surgery Established Patient Office Visit

urgery derives from the Latin word literally meaning, “hand work.” As a child growing up in Indiana, working with my hands was a source of happiness. Woodworking, plastic models and later sculpture were all favorite pastimes. At Notre Dame studying biology, interests in the physical world and scientific theory ignited a passion for medicine and ultimately an education at Indiana University Medical School. Strong role models in surgery and the opportunity to work with my hands resulted in a career in general surgery, again at Indiana University. Completing a chief residency, a practice in Northwest Indiana was developed because of its proximity to family and its community setting. Over the last fifteen years, dedicated to the practice of general surgery, the deepest satisfactions have been generated caring for neighbors, fellow parishioners and friends. “Hand Work” now involves advanced laparoscopic techniques, understanding of current cancer theory and technical application as well as trauma and critical care. Northwest Indiana is my home, its citizens are my patients.
