About Raj Desai, MD, FAAPMR

Raj Desai, MD, FAAPMR, is a double-board certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine.

After his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Desai earned a medical degree at the American University of Antigua. He served an internship in internal medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Queens, New York.

Dr. Desai later served as a resident physician and then chief resident at Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, and completed a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin.
Among his professional pursuits, Dr. Desai was co-founder of a brain injury tele-rehabilitation clinic at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital; pain medicine physician consultant; interventional pain physician; and physiatrist.

Dr. Desai focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pain using minimally invasive techniques which can include procedures such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, and other interventions to manage and alleviate pain. Dr. Desai is available to see patients in Los Angeles.
