Dr. Gordon Roedel grew up in the rural, dairy farming community of Loyal, Wisconsin, where he learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and trust. He attended medical school at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Roedel also completed advanced training with a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at West Virginia University, where he gained expertise in performing complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements. Dr. Roedel specializes in partial and total knee replacements, hip replacement through minimally invasive direct anterior and posterior approaches, management of prosthetic joint infections, and revision of failed joint replacements.
Dr. Roedel explains that the best part of his job is the relationship he shares with his patients. Taking the time to understand each patient’s unique symptoms, how those symptoms impact their daily life, and their future goals allows him to tailor his treatment plan and provide a truly patient-centered experience. It makes his day when he can help someone understand the source of their pain, advocate for them throughout the treatment and recovery process, and celebrate a successful outcome together. He is thankful to have the opportunity to help his patients achieve the lifestyle they desire.
In his free time, Dr. Roedel enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and pets. Dr. Roedel enjoys cooking, hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing.
