The Gadsden Regional Wound Healing Center provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds that have not significantly improved after conventional treatments. Wounds associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins, pressure wounds from immobility and diabetic ulcers lead to lower quality of life and may lead to amputations. When wounds persist, a specialized approach to nutrition and lifestyle modifications is encouraged.
The Gadsden Regional Wound Healing Center is designed to complement your physicians’ services, and our staff is committed to the treatment of chronic or non-healing wounds. The Center is made up of a team of professionals, including:
Physicians with advanced training in wound management and hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy, debridement and medical therapy to optimize wound healing
Nursing staff trained in the care of chronic wounds with certifications in hyperbaric oxygen treatment, wound vac placement, compression wraps, skin substitutes, etc.
The Wound Care Center treatments available include debridement, dressing selections, compression wraps, total contact casting, and HBO. The Gadsden Regional Wound Healing Center can help patients with non-healing and chronic wounds return to the life they love. The Center uses an interdisciplinary model of care, including infectious-disease management, vascular evaluation, laboratory evaluation, nutritional management, diabetes education and other areas to address total patient health, including referrals to appropriate specialists for continuation of positive outcomes.
