Hip Replacement Surgery (inpatient)

Dr. Ryan Rieser is an orthopedic surgeon serving the Shenandoah Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine community in Fishersville, VA. He grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University. He went on to obtain his medical doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Additional internships, residency and fellowship training include: Preliminary Internship, The Mayo Clinic Orthopedic Residency Level 1 Trauma Center, Wright State University Adult Reconstruction Fellowship, direct anterior hip approach, Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic Dr. Rieser has always enjoyed engineering and building. Orthopedics, especially adult reconstruction gives him the opportunity to use his strengths to improve the lives of his patients. He finds it extremely rewarding to see his patients get up and move again and to hear about how they are able to get back to doing what they love. Dr. Reiser performs the following orthopedic surgeries: hip & knee replacement revisions, gap balancing total knee replacement, fracture care and other general orthopedic surgeries such as carpal tunnel repairs and trigger finger release. As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Rieser is dedicated to his patient’s entire joint replacement experience to include the preliminary education before surgery, minimizing pain around the time of surgery and getting patients up and moving after the surgery so they may return to living their life as quickly as possible. Outside of the office, Dr. Rieser loves spending time with his wife and daughters. He also enjoys swimming, backpacking, and photography.
