Born and raised in Knoxville, Dr. Eric Parks received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from East Tennessee State University. He completed his residency in family medicine with the University of Tennessee at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, where he served as chief resident. In 2009, Dr. Parks completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Throughout his training, Dr. Parks served as a team physician for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, University of West Alabama, several high schools, and he was on the medical staff for the Knoxville and Mercedes marathons, NCAA Division I- AA football national championship games, Junior Golden Glove boxing circuit, and Southern Conference tournaments.
He currently serves as a team physician at Tusculum University, Dobyns-Bennett High School, and Tribe lacrosse. He previously served as team physician for Sullivan Central High School.

After working with the physicians of Watauga Orthopaedics while in medical school, Dr. Parks returned to the Tri-Cities and joined the practice in 2009. Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a CAQ in Sports Medicine, Dr. Parks is dedicated to the nonsurgical treatment of orthopaedic conditions such as acute injuries, osteoarthritis, and fractures. Much of his practice is focused on the treatment of overuse conditions of tendons such as the rotator cuff, tennis elbow, patella and achilles tendons, and plantar fascia. He specializes in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnostic and in-office interventional care, as well as the use of regenerative treatments, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, for overuse and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Parks lives in Kingsport with his wife Lindsay and their five kids. He is an avid runner, having completed several marathons, enjoys weight training, snow skiing, and church activities.
