Brent Pickrell, MD, is a fellowship-trained hand surgeon at Los Angeles Orthopedic Surgery Specialists. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a degree in finance from the McCombs School of Business.
He then matriculated to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, on a 4-year full-tuition scholarship and graduated with honors. Dr. Pickrell completed his 6-year integrated plastic surgery residency at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Pickrell subsequently completed an orthopedic hand fellowship at Harvard Medical School, focusing on the complex reconstruction of the hand, wrist, and forearm.
Dr. Pickrell received numerous accolades during his surgical training, including the Harvard Plastic Surgery Resident Teacher of the Year Award. He was a 4-time recipient of the Harvard Academic Achievement Award for earning the highest national in-service exam score. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and remains involved in select research endeavors.
Dr. Pickrell enjoys treating all aspects of hand and upper extremity pathology, including injuries and disorders of the bones, tendons, ligaments, vessels, nerves, and soft tissues. At LAOSS, he uniquely offers wide awake surgery for common hand ailments such as trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome. Dr. Pickrell prioritizes patient education and aims to treat all his patients as if they were his own family members.
