Robert Sorrell, M.D., is a lifelong resident of Birmingham. He is a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School and received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University where he was an Academic All American and All SEC performer in baseball.
Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Sorrell is a diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He specializes in sports medicine, joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Sorrell earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at University of Alabama Hospital. He has been in private practice in the Birmingham area since 1992.
Dr. Sorrell and his wife, Robbin, have three grown children. He enjoys playing sports – particularly golf and tennis – and exercising. He is also very involved in his church.
