Dr. Tennant has spent the last 30+ years of his career at O+FS, treating arthritic and sports-related conditions. Starting January 2020, he has discontinued performing surgical cases in order to focus on his PRP & Stem Cell Practice as the Director of O+FS' Regenerative Medicine Program.
In an evolving profession where advances in procedures and technology are constant, Dr. Robert Tennant never loses sight of one key factor as he works with patients. “I put myself in their shoes,” he says. “I always ask, ‘How would I like to be treated?’”
As a sports participant, he knows the motivation for athletes to get back in the game, and is experienced in treating sports-related injuries and performing arthroscopic procedures.
Dr. Tennant was born and raised in Portland. After studying and training on the East Coast and completing a fellowship in total joint replacement, hip, and knee surgery in London, he returned to his roots and joined what he describes as the best group of orthopedic doctors, filled with those who share his philosophies on patient care.
Married with five children, Dr. Tennant enjoys the collaboration with patients and broader staff to develop a treatment plan. Along the way, he says the key to success is “being honest and compassionate.”
