Dr. Wood is a board-certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and upper extremity. She is a Dallas native who studied at The University of California, Berkeley and returned home to attend medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, also the home of her orthopedic surgery residency. After her residency, she completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery under the tutelage of Dr. David Green at The Hand Center of San Antonio and UTHSCSA. She also received additional training in pediatric and congenital hand conditions at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. Dr. Wood has published scientific articles and book chapters on various orthopedic and hand-related topics, and she has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical School for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. She is an active and engaged member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
