Dr. Dustin Price was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee. He graduated from Science Hill High School in 2001 and received his undergraduate degree from Milligan College in 2005. He completed his medical degree at East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine in 2012.
Dr. Price played baseball while attending Milligan College and received a number of honors and awards including induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010. In medical school, Dr. Price served as a student leader on various committees and was selected as a member of the admissions committee by his professors and peers. He was also honored with induction into the Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Societies.
Following medical school, Dr. Price completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery internship and residency with Greenville Health System in Greenville, South Carolina. As a chief resident he worked alongside team physicians for Clemson University Athletics, providing sideline coverage for the Tigers National Championship football team. He then completed an additional year of specialized fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery at Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Price is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Price has done research focusing on osteoporosis, orthopaedic trauma, minimizing blood loss during hip replacement surgery, and outcomes of partial knee replacement. His interests include minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, computer navigation in knee replacement, and outpatient same-day hip and knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Price is a member of First Christian Church in Johnson City. His hobbies include spending time with his wife and two children, watching movies, and playing golf. Dr. Price and his family are excited to return home and look forward to serving his patients and the community.
